An enthusiastic Munich audience celebrates Michel Legrand, Chen Reiss and Paul Potts.

On the eve of the 28th of June, the live event „Cinema in Concert“ came to the Circus Krone in Munich for the third time. With the soprano Chen Reiss, tenor Paul Potts, moderator Roger Wilhelmsen and the Munich Radio Orchestra, conducted by Ulf Schirmer, the evening turned out to be a spectacular event. Above all the awarde of the evening, the three-time Oscar-winner Michel Legrand, was celebrated by the audience.

To the theme "Legends of the Fall" the renowned Munich Radio Orchestra interpreted world renowned film music accompanied by inspiring picture compositions that were shown on three large panoramic screens behind the orchestra. The result was a powerful sound and visual experience that drew in the audience with classics like "Moon River" or the "The Godfather" theme songs and as an encore the theme music to the latest blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean".

The highlight of the evening was the „Look & Listen Telepool-BR-Music-Award“ which was awarded to the French film composer Michel Legrand. After receiving the award the legendary musician worked his magic on the piano and enthralled the audience by singing the melodies from his Oscar-winning soundtrack "Summer of 42" (1971) and the Academy Award winning song "Windmills of Your Mind" from the movie "Thomas Crown Affair" (1968). The spectators celebrated his appearance on stage with standing ovations and bravos - whereupon Michel Legrand followed up with an encore with the title tune from his third Academy Award-winning work "Yentl" (1983) accompanied by his wife Catherine who took on the harp.

The thrilling third edition of "Cinema in Concert" ended after two hours with a further encore of the sci-fi classic "ET". After the show the guests celebrated extensively at an exclusive after-show party at the Circus Krone. Amongst the stars were German celebrities: Ottfried Fischer, Marie-Luise Marjan, BR Intendant Ulrich Wilhelm, Steffen Kuchenreuther, Klaus Doldinger, Abi Ofarim, Ellen Kessler and many more.
